you whisper,
tell me you love me,
even if you lie…
silence on my tongue
mind swirling with
words i long to muster
yet lying in your arms
my voice obsolete…
you respond to my silence,
then ask me…
the question…
searching your eyes, i do…
…do you love me?
Yes. i will always.
and i find myself bereft,
acknowledged with a caress…
until your soft eyes close,
sweet as an angel to rest
shortly thereafter,
i gather my things and leave…
wondering,
if words really do
mean anything?
oh but they mean the world...and can slice through the thickest skin
ReplyDeleteOh, they always mean something, but not necessarily what's said.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder about that too...interesting read.
ReplyDeleteI wonder with you kay, they matter only if coming from the heart..and they sound like truth only then..Great read as always my poet, your words keep me thinking..:)
ReplyDeletePlease don't lie... it hurts deeply
ReplyDeletelove is many things, don't make it a weapon
words..? humm..what do they actually mean? You seem to find just the right interesting arrangement.
ReplyDeleteSome should not be told... butit feels so nice to be said 'I love you'...
ReplyDeleteIt's not what we are on the inside that defines us. It's what we do on the outside that does. Great poem =)
ReplyDeleteWords comprise only 7% of comprehension. Facial expression, tone of voice, body language make up the rest. I've paid a heavy price for being highly intuitive to the 93%. There is often a truth I did not wish to see.
ReplyDeleteWords are like arrows. Once released no one can take them back! Arab proverb.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the complications...sometimes we leave things unsaid, hoping for them to read between the lines...sometimes the words tumble out in a rush, and we wish our mouth had a backspace, and sometimes we're speechless to describe the depth of our love. Nice one, Kay. And thanks for the encouragement today. I appreciate it.
ReplyDeletewell, if he said tell me you love me even if you lie, then words mean everything, seems to me.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeletesweet, sensual game of passion,
I like the lightness of a dialogue between two lovers, like dance - PasoDoble
hmmm...
the words means something more, always
I'm sure, it's mistery own world.
Fantastic… I assume this happens one time or another to most, before the right one comes along.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wicked poem. I have found myself asking the same thing lately. Don't breathe the words if you can't back them up. Very good stuff young lady.
ReplyDeleteListen to silence… even that speaks aloud..
ReplyDeletenice lines there...
words have no meaning if one can't feel it...
ReplyDeletethe ending is so sad. well written
my 'evil' twin says to tell you, just say it. me, i say, say what feels right...
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful Kay.. Loved the end.. Great work.. :)
ReplyDeleteWords are words.
ReplyDeleteWho says the words gives them life.

ReplyDeleteThe eyes are the key. They are the secret passage to the soul.
ReplyDeleteshadow is a spammer . I saw shadow posting that same poem as comment in at least 6 different blogs including mine. I don't think why would it put such a nice poem in a comment instead of publishing in its blog .
ReplyDeleteIf you don't believe .. search Google for this poem . You will find this poem posted as comment in dozens of blogs .
