we loved
as if
love did not
matter
as if time
stood still
with us
as if
we would live
forever
as if
love
would
prevail
yet
we did not see
the future
did not predict
that the moment
would not last
forever
we loved
as if
love did not
matter
naively,
unknowingly…
It does.
*We love as if love did not matter*
ReplyDeleteWhat a thought..
Awesome lines.
Cheers
Nuts
a rather sobering read...but i would say that is the tipping point between love deepening and realising it never was...
ReplyDeleteLoved the way your poem flowed. I just have one take on it, I think it'd be better if you use another word instead of "forever" in the sixth stanza.
ReplyDeleteAlways love like it is the most important thing that matters.forever. ...:)Hugs
ReplyDeleteWooww! Love it. Really.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you'll do a guest post for me??
ReplyDeleteDrop me a mail at damantiwana@yahoo.com if you'd like to

Feel humbled by so much wisdom. Your soul is so wise and young. Hugs across the pond
ReplyDeleteThese are the things so charming, unprectable about love...
ReplyDeleteLove always matters. We measure it for lack and abundance, weighing relationships in daily communion.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. The image, your words. So well said with such simplicity.
ReplyDeletethis is so deep Kay... "we loved as if love did not matter..." i can relate to it
ReplyDeletelove does that -
ReplyDeletei'd do it again
given the opportunity :)

Gaurav
better the loss than not at all,, or someting like that,, reckon? :)
ReplyDeleteWOW..striking Kay! yes,we never knew...that it does :)
ReplyDeletesee what happens!
ReplyDeleteThe poem is wonderful and is truly how most beginnings go.If only it could stay so naive.
ReplyDeleteI think most love reaches a 'cooling-off' period. But that's where you really get to know the other person and you both grow together into that deeper, more patient love that's better than the urgent rush of young love.
ReplyDelete(Because, as you so wisely wrote: Love matters)
Beautiful!
ReplyDeletebeautifully said, lady - love this piece! and oh, the naiveself and naivelove! sigh!!!
ReplyDeletethe only way to love, from what i hear.
ReplyDeleteDamn, can you WRITE! So glad you crossed my bloggy path (I answered your comment back on my site, btw.)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read more.
returned to get some more naive love. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteInnocent love
ReplyDeleteNaive... I'll call it sacred.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful weaaving of words..
A million 'likeee it'
Yes always! But never realise until too late *sigh* I am loving the shape of your words and the feel of despondency they generate, when reading. Love has a habit of doing that to me!
