Poser

I’ve learned best by being a poser,
yes, it is true…

I’ll admit it here and now
that all along
I’ve never had a clue

racing head-strong
I’ve become the perfect clone
an imposing actor of our time

I’ll tell you I can do it
that I am the best!
I’ll smile and nod
at every request

when asked the questions
I do not know,
I’ll lighten the mood with
Excellent question!
placing any doubt to rest

for I really don’t know anything
other than
perfecting the perfect scheme
of being the one who can do everything…

what a resourceful being!

  1. Kind of like, "Fake it til you make." I've had to do that a number of times.

    simple, excellent poem
    it says,
unique, no perfect, only this one
    no clone
    no robot
    the woman

  8. "A false smile to hide my frown", seems that I have had a few of those days lately. Nice work young lady.

  9. Ha! And yet...I really do learn things when posing. I learn who I want to be and who I don't. I try on personalities, even now, like a second puberty, trying to figure out who I want to be for the next 50 years. Nice piece!

  10. I like this. I think I posed until I retired from my first profession. And now some times I find my self still posing, able to do everything. I wonder if most of us do this, the ones who want to do everything.
