the storm within

thunder bolts from the sky
echoing the restlessness of my heart
as rain pummels down
concealing welcomed tears
i walk purposeless
engulfed by the angry skies
reverberating my pain
winds whipping through me
as the heat of my veins
perpetrate the storm
i walk
as the clouds
rains and winds dissipate
and all that remains
is little ol’ drenched me
immobile
to the silence
that follows

there are many roads leading to the silence.

  5. I was always taught that the silence was in the heart of the storm. A surprising, but moving end to the poem.

  8. I thought the woman in the picture was rowing at first. I did crew and this is how we look from the back. A perfect analogy to the poem. We can be calm on the outside, while inside the storms rage and batter our hull. We shouldn't keep these tempests in, I think. Let them spill out.

  13. Someone wrote something at my place/in my space (in comments)about how everything around reflections what's in us and I can see such in your words. For as I type, great big grey tears fall from the skies, making me feel small inside.Love how you have closed her curtains.

  21. In the silence that follows there'll be redemption as storms dissipate and sunlight breaks through. In waiting storms out there's realisation to be had.
