counting the days…
one, two and so
achingly slow…
three and four
days of silence.
booming silence
as not one word be passed
among us
as if
we were both walking
deceased
numbly moving along
forgetting our natural instinct
to love,
communicate
knowing,
there is an internal battle
festering within us
lost in translation,
between the words we did not say
and the silence that followed
silence
five, six,
now seven days…
i’ll count ‘til infinity
to hear what you have to say.

lost in translation...
ReplyDeletehow long we may waiting? to the second life?
time to first step to do more: stopping count and talk?
maybe...
:)
many hugs
ugh. i hate the silence...seriously...be mad but tell me...
ReplyDeleteBeen there. :/
ReplyDeleteyour silence is turning me deaf

I looked into the starry night sky
I thought ... what if I trust in the silence, and it's full of lights
and without words I know
:)
thanks a lot
Lovely thoughts, lovely poem!
ReplyDeleteI love the last line. There is nothing more damaging than the silent treatment. Within it, the loudest conversations take place in the voices of assumption.
ReplyDeleteAnd lost in interpretation!
ReplyDeleteWaiting for the moment to pass even as we await another moment to dawn.
Maybe in silences words are indeed spoken.
thats a beautiful write...
ReplyDelete//i’ll count ‘til infinity
to hear what you have to say.// loved these
That's funny, It's been 12 days now and counting. Two before that I was in her presence, then came the darkness.
ReplyDeleteThe last two lines truly broke my heart. If silence is used as weapon it is so damaging.
ReplyDeleteYou could count to infinity.. or instead, have your own say... then- leave :(
ReplyDeleteSilence can kill anyone ..Its the most powerful and sometimes dangerous too.
