Frozen

wounds cut deep
as the whitened snow bleeds
blood red,
the purple abrasion
seeps,
the eyes no longer seeing
heart no longer beats,
hands frozen
despairingly motionless
as a puckered mouth opens,
silent
timeless
stillness of winter night streets,
the freeze becomes her.

  10. Such a beautiful poem.
Loved the comparison between freezing and death, such an amazing way to capture that moment indeed.

  11. For me, this was a poem about death, and it really was kind of how I hope it will be, where in the final breath, no matter violence or bloodshed, there is a beautiful moment of peace, a stillness. Well...you know I'm rather morbid anyway. I loved it Kay.
