art by Jason Lincoln
it’s hard not loving you,
your smile,
your laughter
it’s hard not loving
the challenges you partake in
the hope you bring to others
the way you hold me,
tight
as if you were to let go
i would fall into eternal burden
it’s hard not loving you
the way that i would like to
it’s hard each time we part,
how your embrace stays with me
strengthening the release
of our bond
of our bond
it’s hard not loving you
even harder still
to love myself,
without you.
A beautiful poem!
ReplyDeleteWhy is all this conveyed when lovers are apart from each other?
ReplyDeletePerhaps you can learn to love yourself through their eyes?

ReplyDeleteDid you have a good experience with Lulu? I've just had a brutal experience with a local printer who was doing a volume of poems for me and I need to start from scratch. I have one "dummy" book and a manuscript on my computer ready to go.
Your book lookes great (nice title too)and I will enjoy getting to know your work better.
Kat
