nice words... silence seems even more powerful than words.and its even more intersting to understand silence sometimes. a quote is coming to my mind "god despite its casual silence still exists"
When no one listens, when words fall like peet dirt and spent flowers, litter the ground you stand. It is the worst kind of waste, as if words could be so cast...under the step of the next shoe. But I hear you Kay...in the speak and in the listen.
There are so many quotes surrounding silence that this poem brings them all to mind!... silent but deadly, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all, etc. etc. Nice job dear!
Calling silence loud obviously is some form of metaphor. Not a very original one, but recognizable. We all intuitively seem to understand what you mean. But is it really silence if you're spending so many words on emphasizing it?
Just a simple girl with many thoughts and too much time alone with them. I write with human emotions, I am not; however, depressed, morbid, angry....any thing but a normal girl. Many times already, I would like to leave a note of what each piece means to me, but I leave that to the reader to decide--as that is the beauty of art. Interpretation.
Some pieces may not be what they seem...is what I mean.
Profound silence can be. Profound words can be. Breath is wated in both spaces, at times. Nicely done!

ReplyDeleteI agree more is said in silence than in words. In fact I am one who enjoys the silence and warmth of a silent contentment.....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteThe photo leaps out at you and is quite haunting. Your words are powerful Kay and they create an amazing effect. Powerful writing here.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how much can be expressed when nothing is said, nothing returned. Silence does have its place. Liked this a lot.
ReplyDeleteI have a difficult time being silent. If I am, you know something is wrong. Is it like that for you, too?

ReplyDeleteSilence is far more powerful than words... It was my Granny's favourite weapon when I was growing up. I was petrified of her silence!!
ReplyDeletesilence is indeed so much louder than words... it has been a silent day for me today

ReplyDeleteDarling, there is ALWAYS something more to say. Look, there goes Bitsy Henderson, wearing that dismal rag she bought at Dress Barn. Let's discuss her!
