The salt of my tears
Season the frozen dinner I eat tonight
You said you would call
You said, we would meet at 8:30
I sent you a message at 8:45
Receiving no reply
By 9:20, I was hungry
Bereaving
You never fail at being deceiving
I have grown to find my tears
Much more fulfilling
and alway reliable.
Your poetry is very moving and with a lot of feel! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSmiles from Sreya *_*
The poem is so short and yet speak volumes. Made me think of the time when I was the bereaving woman..
ReplyDeleteFirst time here. Will be back to read u more later,
Cheers,
Annie.
So beautiful! I hope you're fine. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved your opening lines in this one. They capture a mood so exactly.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we can't control others... Beautifully written and so full of emotions,

beautiful.. the expression of deception can easily be felt..
ReplyDeletegood one.. :)
Its nice... It feels like you have expressed a dialogue in poetic form!
ReplyDeleteMen are simple devils and cannot tell time without a woman there to tell them what time it is. I'd have brained him with the (still) frozen dinner, if he would only have obligingly shown up and presented his head.
ReplyDeletevoww!!!
ReplyDeleteI have grown to find my tears

Hugs to you
When someone shows you their "true" face the first time, always remember that is who they really are and will not change. It's time sweetie to move on, embrace the good, let go of the bad and learn the valuable lessons from your experience......:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteExtremely touching... thank you for sharing....
ReplyDeleteSad and heartfelt words. Tears have the ability to comfort us and restore balance to hurting souls.
ReplyDeleteWhen tears are more reliable than words it is time to step into courage and open the spaces once filled with hurt, with happiness and real love.
Beautiful and heartfelt. Thank you, Kay. You are a beautiful woman and beautiful soul.
xox
Incredible writing but it brought back memories of tears spent, for a few that didn't deserve them.
ReplyDeleteWhat an emotional piece and devastating lines at the end. It expresses the feeling of being stood up very well.
ReplyDeleteI love popping by your blog. I haven't been able to catch up with any for a while so have been drowning in posts since yesterday - I knew I had to keep yours until last :0)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a feeling that I have felt. You say it so well !..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem. Take care :)

Damn Kay. I hope this wasn't true. I hope some poor shlub didn't really stand you up. It's a unique seasoning, one I don't often have an appetite for. Lovely poem whether truth or fiction.
